Description

Cloud computing has become a popular model of delivering computing services over the Internet (“the cloud”) with flexible pricing models such as pay per use. It provides flexible on-demand access to an elastic computing resource base and represents the infrastructure, software, platforms, storage and application containers as a cloud where users can provision and access services over a network. Cloud Computing has a large number of deployed solutions in education, big data computing, health, private sector and government domains. OpenStack is a popular open source software stack  for the deployment and management of a cloud infrastructure as a service platform. In this workshop, the participants shall be introduced to Cloud Computing and supporting technologies such as virtualization and clustering for highly available infrastructures. Furthermore, there shall be practical sessions on OpenStack to highlight the Cloud Computing paradigm and also present it as a viable option for NRENs venturing into operationalizing their private/public clouds.
